Neck strengthening has become more popular due to the demands and forces applied to the body in sports such as Rugby and Mountain biking

In Rugby, 14-29% of injuries accounted for the head and neck area (Barret 2015)

With contact forces increasing this has become a bigger focus for coaches to limit these injuries and concussions

In Gravity mountain biking, the natural roots, rocks and holes make it harder for the body to keep stable. Keeping the head and neck stable allows you to look further forward and carry speed through these rough areas

In many sports, concussions are increasing due to the high impact forces. Building neck strength will lower these forces sustained and the severity of concussion will coincide with this
